Electronic Engine Controller ERD-3VM Series 2 is part of the electronic section of the engine control system and is designed to generate control signals for the actuator of the pump regulator, which regulates fuel flow during speed control, the MKT-163 actuator for adjusting the throttle limiter, and the engine shutdown actuator during the free turbine spin-up. The electronic engine controller is a specialized electronic digital computing machine with a fixed program, operating in real-time, and equipped with interfaces for sensors and the actuator of the electronic section of the control system. The electronic engine controller is intended to receive electrical signals from the sensors of the electronic section of the control system, normalize and convert the signals received from the sensors, and generate control signals for the fuel flow actuator and engine shutdown according to a predefined program. Structurally, the electronic engine controller consists of a cast base with four mounting legs and a casing. The legs have holes for rigid mounting of the controller on the helicopter. To improve heat dissipation, the mounting surfaces of the legs are free from paint, and the sides of the base are equipped with fins. It is used in TV3-117 VM (A) engines.
