NON-AIRWORTHY PARTS POLICY

Last Updated: July 31, 2026

1. WHY THIS POLICY EXISTS

Not every part offered on Aviatrading is intended for installation on a certified aircraft. Some parts are sold for display, training, simulation, salvage, or parts harvest. Others are sold as cores for overhaul. This policy explains how intended use is declared on the Platform, and what that declaration means for you as a buyer.

2. INTENDED USE DECLARED BY THE SELLER

Every listing carries an intended-use declaration made by the seller:
• Airworthy installation. The seller declares the part is intended for installation on a certified aircraft and holds at least one authorized release certificate.
• Non-airworthy use only. Display, training, simulator, salvage, or parts harvest. Not approved for installation on certified aircraft.
• Core for overhaul. The buyer is responsible for inspection and re-certification before installation.
• Not specified. The buyer should verify intended use and documentation with the seller.

The declaration is shown on the listing page. It is a statement made by the seller, not a determination made by Aviatrading.

3. WHAT NON-AIRWORTHY MEANS

A part declared for non-airworthy use only must not be installed on a certified aircraft. It may carry no authorized release certificate, its history may be incomplete, and it may not be eligible for return to service by any approved organization.

A core for overhaul is sold as-is for the purpose of overhaul or repair by an approved organization. It is not ready for installation as delivered.

These declarations describe the part as offered. They do not limit what a qualified organization may lawfully do with it afterwards, provided all applicable requirements are met.

4. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AT CHECKOUT

If your order contains one or more items declared for non-airworthy use only, or as a core for overhaul, you are asked to confirm the following before the order can be placed:

"I confirm that one or more items in this order are NOT approved for installation on certified aircraft. I am responsible for inspection, re-certification, and any regulatory compliance."

The order cannot be completed until this acknowledgement is given.

5. BUYER RESPONSIBILITY

Determination of airworthiness, installation eligibility, and regulatory compliance rests solely with the buyer, operator, or approved maintenance organization.

Before a part is installed on a certified aircraft you are expected to:
• verify the documentation directly with the seller;
• have the part inspected, tested, or re-certified by an approved organization where required;
• confirm that the part is eligible for the intended aircraft, engine, or assembly;
• comply with the rules of your own aviation authority, and with applicable export control and sanctions requirements.

6. CERTIFICATES DECLARED BY SELLERS

Certificates shown on a listing are declared by the seller and are not verified by Aviatrading. We do not issue, validate, or verify airworthiness documentation of any kind.

A listing with no certificates declared does not necessarily mean no documentation exists. It means the seller has not declared any. Ask the seller before you buy.

7. IF A LISTING IS MISREPRESENTED

If you believe a part is presented as something it is not, including a part offered as approved for installation without the documentation to support it, report the listing using the "Report as Suspected Unapproved Part" button on the listing page, or write to [email protected].

We review every report. Confirmed violations lead to removal of the listing and may lead to suspension of the seller account. See our Bogus Parts Policy for the full procedure.
