Used Aircraft Parts for Sale

Serviceable, overhauled and cost-effective.

Aviatrading makes it easy to find serviceable, overhauled and as-removed aircraft parts at competitive prices. Search by part number, compare condition and certificate type across sellers, and contact them directly — whether you are an airline, an MRO or a parts trader.

What are used aircraft parts?

Used aircraft parts are components that have been installed on an aircraft before and later removed — during maintenance, at an overhaul, or when an aircraft is retired. Depending on what was done to them since, they are sold as overhauled, serviceable or as removed.

Used parts are a normal part of aviation maintenance. With the right condition and paperwork, a used part keeps an aircraft flying at a fraction of the cost and lead time of a new one.

Why operators choose used parts

Used and overhauled parts give aviation businesses real advantages:

  • Cost. Used parts usually cost much less than new OEM components.
  • Availability. Many are in stock and ready to ship, avoiding long OEM lead times.
  • Proven performance. Serviceable and overhauled parts are inspected or tested before release.
  • Sustainability. Reusing parts extends their life cycle and reduces waste.

With ongoing supply-chain delays, used parts have become a reliable, practical option for keeping fleets in the air.

Where used parts come from

Used aircraft parts come from a few main sources:

  • retired aircraft taken apart by dismantlers;
  • certified repair stations and overhaul shops;
  • airlines and MROs selling surplus stock;
  • exchange and repair programs.

As more aircraft are retired and parted out, the supply of serviceable components keeps growing — and so does competition among sellers. That is where online visibility makes the difference.

Quality and paperwork

With used parts, the paperwork tells you what you are buying. Every listing on Aviatrading shows the part number, the condition and the certificate type — for example FAA 8130-3 or EASA Form 1.

Before you pay, ask the seller for the release certificate and any maintenance or teardown records, and check that the numbers match the part. See our guide to FAA 8130-3 and EASA Form 1 for what to check.

Common questions

  • A used part can be installed when it comes with a valid release certificate, such as FAA 8130-3 or EASA Form 1, for its current condition, and the installer accepts it. The condition and paperwork matter more than whether the part is new.

  • An overhauled part has been restored to the manufacturer's specification by an approved repair station. A serviceable part has been inspected or tested and found fit to install, without a full overhaul.

  • The part was taken off an aircraft and has not been inspected or tested since. It is usually bought for repair, overhaul or as an exchange core.

  • Ask the seller for a copy of the release certificate and check that the part and serial numbers match. Our certification guide explains the fields that matter.

  • Yes. Listing is free, you set the condition and the price, and you pay a commission only after a successful sale.
